Getting Here
Airport: The
main airport is Pittsburgh International (PIT). Most major airlines have service
there, including just recently, Southwest Airlines.
The inexpensive way to
Oakland
: The 28X Airport Flyer bus goes to and from the airport on a regular
schedule (about every 20 minutes). $2.25 one way (They take bills, no change
given back, no tipping). Ask the driver for the Holiday Inn Select Oakland. They
will drop you off 1.5 blocks from the hotel.
Taxi: Approximately $45.
Airport shuttle:
USA
Express shuttle at 10 minutes before the hour, $22 one-way, stops at all of the
major hotels. Shamrock limousine: $45.
All of the major car rental companies have service at the
airport.
Check the hotel website for directions to the hotel from the airport.
Essentially, follow the signs to
Pittsburgh
. Be in the right lane after coming through the
Fort
Pitt
tunnels, take I-376 East toward
Monroeville
. Stay in the right lane, and take the
Oakland
exit. Go to the Cathedral of Learning, turn left on Bigelow (might be blocked
off), Go two blocks and turn right on Bigelow (continues), go one block, then
right on Lytton. Holiday Inn has free parking for guests. $5 day fee for
non-guests.
