Center recruiting Research Project Manager

Pittsburgh, Jan. 22 – The Center for Dental Informatics is currently recruiting for a Research Project Manager for its various informatics research projects.
 
This new position will take a lead role on managing and executing behavioral research projects in dental informatics at the Center. Our research focuses on informatics and information technology applications that help improve clinical decision-making, documentation and care. The incumbent will work closely with research staff, postdocs, graduate students and faculty on conducting research, preparing manuscripts and reports, and developing grant applications/proposals. Major responsibilities include recruiting dental personnel, e.g., dentists and dental hygienists, and practices into studies; organizing and scheduling research activities; supervising data acquisition, quality assurance and analysis; and developing and monitoring budgets. Basic knowledge of exempt and expedited IRB submissions is required.

Position requires masters in a behavioral research area, such as psychology, social science and ethnography, or a bachelors degree and seven years experience in related research area. Three years experience in research setting. Prior experience in writing manuscripts and grant applications preferred. Significant experience in qualitative research. Candidate should possess considerable experience with research projects, including conception, design, initiation and management. Competence in at least one statistical software application, such as SPSS or SAS. The position is supported by grants from the NIH and other federal agencies, as well as department funds.
