2.3 Content emphasis |
Educational resources should teach what is new while building on knowledge that can reasonably be assumed to exist within the audience. Content should emphasize new and unfamiliar facts and concepts.
2.3.1. Is the emphasis on the content most related to the objectives? Background and familiar content should receive minimal attention; the objective-based content should be the focus of instruction.
2.3.2. Is the emphasis on the more difficult topics? Learners should be encouraged to spend the most time on topics that are new or unfamiliar to them. The more difficult content should be intermittently reviewed and assessed.
