Michael Choy, DDS
Dr. Choy is from Northern California in a city just outside of San Francisco. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Minor in Chemistry from California State University, Chico. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry where he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a prestigious national dental honors society. Dr. Choy completed his pre-doctoral research in orthodontic tooth movement detection via Cone-Beam Computed Tomography. Dr. Choy is a sports enthusiast and enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Michelle Kim, DMD
Dr. Kim is originally from Seoul, South Korea. She graduated with a double degree in mass communication and business administration from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, one of the country’s top universities. She completed pre-pharmacy and her 1st professional year of PharmD program in Purdue University where she earned a 4.0 GPA. She moved to Pittsburgh right after her 1st professional year of PharmD to be with her husband and to pursue her dream of becoming an orthodontist. She earned her DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and finished in the top 5 of her class. She was also inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honors society. In her free time, Dr. Kim enjoys practicing yoga, traveling and watching movies.
Giancarlo Santos, DDS
Dr. Santos was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame. He holds a DDS degree from the University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honors society. He has been awarded for his research on distraction osteogenesis and presented his findings at an international research conference in Brazil. In his free time, Dr. Santos enjoys working out, cooking and traveling. He plans to explore more of Southeast Asia and South America in the near future.
Junyi Xie, DDS
Dr. Xie is originally from Southern California. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She then went on and earned her DDS degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry where she was awarded the Board of Counselors Scholarship and UCLA Affiliates Scholarship for her leadership and community involvement. Dr. Xie is very excited to live in Pittsburgh for a few years before she returns home to Southern California. Additionally, she is an avid athlete and has been a nationally ranked competitive swimmer for several years. In her spare time, Dr. Xie is also a huge foodie and loves trying out new restaurants.
