The primary role of the School of Dental Medicine is the education of dental health professionals. Being a teaching institution, we want you to be aware that your care may take longer than in a private dental office. Be assured that the dental care that you will receive meets the standard of care in the dental profession.

Our School is open to patients from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the school year, excluding Holidays.

In certain cases (e.g. after clinic hours), patients may be referred to the emergency clinics of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Hospitals on campus. A standard hospital fee will be charged for emergency visits in addition to the dental procedure fee; these fees are the patient's responsibility.
