Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics: Patient Information
The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics offers a full range of orthodontic services to patients from the greater Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. The clinical faculty of 10 orthodontists and 11 orthodontic residents provide interceptive, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary orthodontic care to patients of all ages.
The clinical faculty members are experienced orthodontists who have completed a course of specialty training in orthodontics. They directly supervise the residents, who are dentists undergoing a three-year course of study to become orthodontic specialists.
Our orthodontists offer the following types of treatment:
- simple tooth movements,
- interceptive orthodontics,
- comprehensive orthodontics,
- adult orthodontic treatment,
- multidisciplinary orthodontics, and
- surgical (orthognathic) orthodontics.
