Antonia Ambrosino currently serves as a clinical part-time Instructor in the Dental Hygiene Program. She is a 1973 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Dental Assisting/Oral Hygiene Program. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in teaching and administration from the University of Pittsburgh School of Health Professions in 1974. Ms. Ambrosino maintains a Pennsylvania Educational Specialist II Certificate, a certificate as a Pennsylvania Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner, and Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene Local Anesthesia Permit. Ms. Ambrosino has worked as a dental assistant, and as a dental hygienist in general and periodontal practice settings. She also has experience a school dental hygienist and a public health dental hygienist. Ms. Ambrosino joined the Dental Hygiene Department as an instructor in 2006.
Ms. Ambrosino, an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association and Western Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association, has held leadership positions at the local level. Ms. Ambrosino is a member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). and has been a charter member of the Pennsylvania and North Carolina Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies. She has served as a member of the School of Dental Medicine Alumni Committee and the Infection Control Committee, and Dental Hygiene Outcomes Committee. She is a member of 1st and 2nd year Dental Hygiene Program Clinical Evaluation Committee.
