Dr. Antonia Teruel currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Between August 2008 and June 2015, Dr. Teruel served full-time as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry in the Division of Periodontology, Diagnostic Sciences and Dental Hygiene at the Ostrow School of Dentistry of University of Southern California (USC). She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain. While at USC, she served as a member and class evaluator in the Student Professional Performance Evaluation Committee, Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC since 2013.
Dr. Teruel earned her dental degree in 2001, followed by a master’s degree in 2003 and a PhD in 2006, both in Oral Biology with focus on Tumor Immunology, from the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed residencies in the specialties of Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain, both in 2008.
Dr. Teruel has published several original articles, reviews, and book chapters in her areas of clinical expertise. Dr.Teruel serves on the Editorial Board of Revista Odontologica Mexicana. She is a certified evidence reviewer for the Center for Evidence-Based Dentistry since 2012.
