Department of Prosthodontics: Programs

First Professional Program
At the First Professional level, the faculty provides teaching to all four classes; the first two years in the preclinical program and the latter two years in the clinical program. Preclinical teaching involves lectures, presentations, clinical simulation, and sessions that are conducted in the various aspects of fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics.  Implant placement and restoration is experienced in the fourth year curriculum.

Advanced Training Program
The Advanced Training level consists of up to three residents per year. It is a three-year course of study and training in all phases of prosthodontics; with special emphasis on total oral rehabilitation of the patients. The program's didactic and clinical components are designed to train and equip the graduate to transfer new prosthodontic knowledge and approaches, to implement evidence-based prosthodontic decision-making in clinical practice, and to prepare for certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics.
Clinical training in dentistry for residents emphasizes all aspects of implant treatment, including implant placement.
