Overview

This e-learning case-based interactive module was developed to teach students about the need for clinical assessment of acute pain and signs of suspected opioid abuse.  Additional emphasis is placed on the need for reliable and effective interprofessional communication, especially when faced with the operational barriers posed by a segmented healthcare system.  The module was developed by a team of nine experts in education, information technology, pharmacy, pain management, oral surgery, public health, and palliative medicine.
