The SDM's Dental Hygiene Program is the only one in the state of Pennsylvania that is part of a major University, medical center, and accredited dental school. This affiliation opens the doors to many possibilities beyond those traditionally available for dental hygienists

Today's dental hygienist is not limited to clinical practice alone. Although the SDM's Dental Hygiene Program provides outstanding clinical instruction, its graduates are prepared for careers in related areas, including: hospital-based dental hygiene, public health services, education, research, marketing, administration, and military services.

The program offers two academic tracks for dental hygiene students: a certificate in dental hygiene and a Bachelor of Science degree completion option in dental hygiene.
