Financing Your Dental Education

At the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, we want our students to make wise choices, especially about paying for dental school. Although the primary responsibility for financing a dental education rests with the student, we encourage each student to explore the possibility of financial help from one's family. However, many students find that they must access some type of financial aid assistance to meet their costs. Our goal is to guide you successfully through the process of financing your dental education.

Students can use the following resources to help fund their education:

The top 10% of the Class in the second through fourth years of schooling will receive scholarships.

To receive financial aid, interested students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. The school code for the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is E00750. You must file your FAFSA any time after January 1 of the year in which you will be registered for classes. Please remember that if you file a federal tax return, this information will be needed in order to complete the form. Please complete the FAFSA no later than April 30 in order to assure ample time to process this information and generate a Financial Aid Award Letter for you. You will receive your award letter late in July. For additional financial aid information please review the Student Financial Aid Handbook.
