How do I apply for financial aid?
You must file your FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) any time after January 1st of the year in which you will be registered for classes. Please remember that if you file a federal tax return, this information will be needed in order to complete the form. We ask that you complete the FAFSA no later than April 30th in order to assure ample time to process this information and generate a Financial Aid Award Letter for you. You will receive your award letter late in July after tuition is declared by the University Trustees.
When do I get my money?
Funds will be disbursed approximately a week before the beginning of the term. The funds will be applied to your student account and all tuition and fee charges will be deducted from the loan. If you have a credit balance after all charges have been deducted, you will receive a refund within three to five working days from the day the money was applied to your account.
What if my parent's won't give me their tax information for the Health Professions Loan?
In order to qualify for the Health Professions Loan (HPL), we must have a copy of your parent's tax information. If your parent's do not want to give you this information, you will need to borrow the funds from an alternative loan source.
