Ariadne Letra was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and graduated from the College of Dentistry at Universidade Federal Fluminense (in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), in 1995. Later, she completed her residency and obtained a Masters of Science degree in endodontics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

Ariadne recently earned her PhD in the Oral Biology program at Faculdade de Odontologia de Bauru, Universidade de São Paulo. 

Ariadne is currently conducting studies on candidate genes/loci involved in cleft lip and palate and dental anomalies in different populations.
