Andrew Jockers DMD Named Director of CPSN

It is with great Pitt pride that we announce that Andrew Jockers, DMD, has assumed the role of Center for Patients with Special Needs (CPSN) Director.

Dr. Jockers is a recent and proud Pitt Dental Medicine Class of 2020 alumnus. Since that time, Dr. Jockers practiced privately in Michigan for several years before completing a General Practice Residency (GPR) program at the University of Michigan. During his residency, Dr. Jockers developed a clinical focus in caring for adult patients with special needs, a passion that began with his experience as a dental student in our very own CPSN and which has continued to this day.

Prior to returning to Pittsburgh, Dr. Jockers worked as a part-time faculty member at the University of Michigan’s University Hospital System where he served as the first clinical faculty at the University of Michigan’s new Integrated Specialty Care Center. Additionally, Dr. Jockers worked as one of the team dentists for the Flint Firebirds of Ontario Hockey League. Dr. Jockers has been a Pitt Dental Medicine part-time faculty member since 2024 and remains both excited and happy to have returned to Pittsburgh. He is grateful to have found fulfilling work where he trained and is deeply honored to assume the role of director for a clinic that he once shadowed in as a student in college.

In the coming year, as we look to proudly celebrate the amazing 20 years of service our CPSN has offered our community, please join us in welcoming Dr. Jockers to his new role and thanking Dr. McKenzie for his service to our school and to our CPSN.
