Dr. Giuseppe Intini

Dr. Giuseppe Intini, associate professor in the Department of Periodontics and Preventive Dentistry and the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration, has received grant awards for two research projects from Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma

The first research project, Maintenance of a novel BMP3 knock-out immunocompetent osteosarcoma mouse line, will conduct a long-term observation of a new mouse line looking to detect any development of osteosarcoma lung metastases. The second project, Silencing the BMP3 gene in the human LM7 osteosarcoma metastatic cell line to inhibit its ability to develop osteosarcoma metastases, will study if LM7 cell lines that are modified to silence BMP3 will develop metastases over time.
