World Down Syndrome Day is Saturday, March 21, 2026 (3-21).
This is symbolic because persons with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of chromosome 21.
In recognition, please join the American Academy of Developmental Medicine & Dentistry (AADMD) for Rock Your Socks on Friday, March 20, at Noon in Salk Pavilion Atrium.
All students, faculty, staff, and residents are invited to wear their favorite pair of crazy socks and meet near the cafe in the atrium at noon for group photos of our crazy socks to share with our community.
The Pitt Dental Medicine Rock Your Socks event is held each year and encourages people wear crazy, fun, brightly colored socks to raise awareness and celebrate our community members with Down Syndrome.
Pitt Dental Medicine is committed to providing access to its services, activities and programs. If you require an accommodation to participate in this event, please email amd299@pitt.edu before March 19, 2026.
