Students attend 3Rivers Dental Conference

Group of Pitt Dental Medicine Students at the 3 Rivers Dental Conference

Pitt Dental Medicine D3 and D4 students attended the 2025 3Rivers Dental Conference at Nemacolin, Pa. on November 6-7.
The event gave students an opportunity to attend presentations and CE courses by industry leaders, and network with regional dental care providers.
Among the 20 Pitt Dental Medicine students who attended were third-year students Nathan Semaneck, Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) president, and Nabaa Abdel Okhowa, American Student Dental Association (ASDA) president.
"Attending the 2025 3Rivers Dental Conference was an incredible opportunity for all of us to learn from leaders in our field, and connect with future colleagues who share a passion for advancing patient care. The continuing education lecture by Dr. Mark Hyman and the vendor fair provided valuable insights into emerging techniques, technologies, and patient management strategies that will undoubtedly shape the future of dentistry. I’m so grateful to the Dental Society of Western PA for sponsoring our attendance and supporting student involvement at Pitt Dental Medicine. Having the opportunity to network with local practitioners and alumni reinforced the strong sense of community that exists within Pennsylvania’s dental profession. Experiences like this motivate me to continue learning, growing, and contributing to the field as I prepare for my future career in dentistry." —Nathan Semanek, Class of 2027
