University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Graduates Ready for Future Challenges and Opportunities

The graduates from Pitt Dental Medicine may have finished their studies, but their professional careers are just beginning. Their studies at Pitt Dental School have equipped them for their professions, and they can’t wait to get started.

“Each of you has worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone,” said Dr. Christine Wankiiri-Hale, the Associate Dean for Students. “You represent the very best of what Pitt Dental Medicine strives to produce: compassionate clinicians, innovative thinkers, and dedicated leaders.” Dr. Wankiiri-Hale reminded each graduate: “You have worked tirelessly, persevered through challenges, and grown in ways that will define your careers and shape the lives of your future patients.”

The Class of 2026 boasts a wealth of diverse specializations: Thirty Dental Hygiene graduates are stepping into vital roles in oral health care; 82 DMD graduates have emerged as skilled clinicians ready to serve patients or entering advanced residency programs; 25 residents earned advanced specialty certificates in various dental specialties, some of whom also earned a master’s degrees through these rigorous post-graduate programs; and graduates who have eared a Master’s degree or PhD in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences who will advance that field by their research.
