Alexander Sachs, DMD, MD, is an assistant professor and oral and maxillofacial surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Sachs began his training at Tulane University for his undergraduate studies in Political Science. He holds dual degrees in dental medicine and medicine, having earned his DMD from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Surgery Internship, including a term as Chief Resident, at UPMC.
His clinical interests include:
- Dentoalveolar surgery and dental implant procedures
- Outpatient anesthesia
- Orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery
- Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery
- Trauma and facial reconstruction
- Treatment of benign pathology of the jaws
