John Burnheimer DMD MS

Assistant Professor; Interim Residency Program Director

Dr. John M. Burnheimer earned his DMD degree at the University of Pittsburgh after completing a BS degree at Penn State University. He earned an MS degree and earned a certificate in orthodontics at West Virginia University. Dr. Burnheimer joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2013 where he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics

Dr. Burnheimer currently serves as the Interim Residency Program Director of the Advanced Dental Education/Residency Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and as the director for the predoctoral program in orthodontics. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of multiple professional and scientific societies.

He has 30 years of experience in private practice and has authored a number of publications. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at Seton Hall University.
