Dr. Apisit Akarapattananukul is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He earned his DDS from Mahidol University in Thailand, where he practiced as a general dentist in both hospital and private practice settings before pursuing specialty training in the United States.
Dr. Akarapattananukul completed his Graduate Prosthodontics residency at Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he developed clinical and academic expertise across fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics, as well as comprehensive restorative dentistry. His clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment planning of complex restorative cases, implant-supported restorations, CAD-CAM dentistry, and esthetic and functional rehabilitation.
His academic and research interests center on digital dentistry and CAD-CAM restorative materials, with particular focus on the manufacturing, clinical implications, mechanical properties, and clinical performance of contemporary materials. He is also interested in integrating digital technologies into restorative and prosthodontic workflows and in advancing evidence-based approaches to comprehensive patient care and dental education.
