Carl Hutcherson DMD MAGD MAAFO FICOI

Clinical Instructor

Dr. Carl F. Hutcherson received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974 and obtained his DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1978.

Early in his dental practice career, Dr. Hutcherson served as a staff dentist at the Southern Indiana County Pennsylvania Medical Center providing care in a federally designated underserved area from 1978 to 1981. From 1981 to 1995 he served as a staff dentist at what is now known as Excela Hospital in Greensburg, Pa. This facility is a regional hospital provided care for primarily low income, or physically and or mentally challenged individuals and hospital employees. This site also served a clinical training site for fourth-year dental students from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine with the staff dentists serving as instructors for the fourth-year students.

Dr. Hutcherson opened his private practice, Mountain View Dental, in Greensburg, Pa. in the fall of 1980 and maintained this facility for 43 years. Quality care was provided for adults and children, including basic restorative, esthetic, orthodontic and implant dentistry for the local community.  

Dr Hutcherson was awarded a fellowship and mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry in addition to a mastership in the American Association of Functional Orthodontics and fellowship in the International College of Oral Implantology.

Dr. Hutcherson has made continuing education an important part of his practice life bringing those benefits to his practice community and students.

Dr Hutcherson received his appointment as a  clinical instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2021.
