This professional level position serves as the clinical director for the Dental Center. The General Dentist is responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth and gums and related oral structures. The general dentist may also treat diseases of the nerve, pulp, or other dental tissues affecting vitality of teeth. The dentist provides daily direction and supervision of all clinical staff, ensures the highest standards of dental/medical care is provided to patients. The incumbent ensures the safety and professional operation of the dental center and, in cooperation with the business manager and headquarter, ensures all necessary OSHA and HIPAA training is current. This includes ensuring ongoing compliance with all relevant laws.

• Graduation from an accredited school of dental medicine, successful completion of all board examinations, and a current license to practice dentistry in Pennsylvania are required.
• A DEA certificate for prescribing or dispensing all levels of medication including schedule 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 and 5 level narcotics and a Nitrous Oxide Certification is also required.
• The dentist must supply evidence of current malpractice insurance with liability limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 in aggregate. This must be maintained by the dentist and is a condition of employment.
