Private Maine based Pediatric Dental Practice is looking for a full time Pediatric Dentist to join their team!

At our practice, EVERY CHILD IS WELCOME. We accept every child, regardless of their financial status.

We have a shared desire to practice in a community where our skills could be best used for the betterment of the community; to truly make a positive impact. Our doctors joined together to ensure that all children are treated with dignity and compassion and have equal access to quality dental care regardless of the insurance they carry.

We're one of the few offices who accepts Medicaid. Private insurance often pays 3 to 4 times more than a dentist will receive for completing that exact same procedure on a child who has Medicaid. For that reason, many dentists refuse Medicaid entirely. Where it is accepted, most limit Medicaid to a small percentage of their client base. With us, we do not restrict it in any way.

Cavities are the most common chronic childhood disease in America, and 80% of this tooth decay is found in the lowest-income 20% of the population. Why should kids become victim to circumstances that they have no control over? We're dedicated to fighting—and reversing—this trend. Above all else, we are here to serve our community, and we will hold to our mission:

Every child is welcome.

In terms of clinical care we're looking for someone who will embrace our focus on prevention and wellness. Our mission is to educate families and prevent tooth decay, rather than to “drill and fill” the youngest members of our community.

We are here to serve our community. This means investing in cutting-edge equipment, technologies, and practices - without charging cutting-edge prices.

We use digital radiography rather than conventional radiography equipment, resulting in 3-4x’s less radiation exposure for your children - an important step in preserving their lifelong health. This equipment also creates better imaging, allowing for more accurate assessments of our patients’ dental condition. We also use only sealants made from a natural glass ionomer that are more durable and offer better protection against decay for patients.

We use hospital-grade sterilization, rather than standard dental sterilization equipment. In standard sterilization, only heat is used. We use a heat and vacuum combination that distributes more heat and kills microbes more effectively than heat alone. This is the highest standard.

Our doctors communicate weekly with researchers and leaders in minimally invasive dentistry from around the world. Our research partnership with the University of Washington enables our practice to evolve with the latest literature and findings, while also contributing to the leading edge of minimally invasive dentistry.

As one example, a new Micro CT technology in Germany just began to use X-ray imaging in 3D to visualize what happens at the histological level when using Silver Diamine Fluoride. This will be better resolution than anything that has been published in the literature so far, and we regularly provide these researchers with teeth treated with Silver Diamine Fluoride so we can learn what is going on with these teeth at the micro level.

We value the child’s emotional health as much as their dental health. If we can contribute to positive experiences with doctors and dentists, we can create an individual that is not only “okay” with going to the doctor or dentist, but actually likes it!

We're open to both experienced candidates as well as those right out residency. Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Dentistry is required. We're ideally looking for somone with interest in setting some long term roots in the area, and providing the community in which they live with quality dental care. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work in an unsaturated dental market with reasonable cost of living. We have no weekends or late evenings - which allows for a nice work/life balance.

We can provide competitive compensation, benefits, and mentoring to those who require it. Above all else we're looking for someone kind, empathetic, skilled, motivated and one who will embrace our philosophy and brand of dentistry.

If interested - please apply - we hope to hear from you soon!
