Dental SCORE
In this project we are examining oral health in older adults by performing a detailed oral/periodontal examination on a sample of up to 2000 adults from the greater Pittsburgh region who had participated in Dr. Steven Reis’ Heart SCORE Study, a longitudinal study of cardiovascular health. The ultimate goal of this research project is to use the data from this study to dissect the genetic and environmental risk factors for dental caries and periodontal disease in older adults.
