
Antonio Cardoso is a current fourth-year DMD student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious International College of Dentists WUDAA Scholarship.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Richmond. Antonio is passionate about using his Spanish language skills to help break down language barriers and improve access to health care for Spanish-speaking communities. Antonio participates in student group events to provide care to underserved communities and recently participated in one with his classmates to provide free dental care to approximately 1,400 individuals.
Antonio is actively involved in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Pitt Student Chapter, and the Hispanic Student Dental Association, and has participated in the Street Dentistry Club and Special Olympics events.
For the past three years, Antonio has contributed to research investigating the potential anatomical risk factors for cleft lip and palate. He aspires to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry, with a particular interest in treating children with cleft and craniofacial differences.
