Tremont Orthodontics Lab Opening 2

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, Pitt Dental Medicine unveiled the new Dr. Charles F. Tremont Orthodontics Laboratory.

This modern laboratory, dedicated to educational and patient care resources, is made possible through the generosity of Pitt Dental Medicine alumnus, Dr. Timothy Tremont (DMD ’78), in honor of his father, Dr. Charles F. Tremont Sr. (DDS ’47), also a Pitt Dental Medicine alumnus.

Charles F. Tremont Sr. was a U.S. Navy veteran who practiced dentistry for more than 66 years in Versailles, Pennsylvania. He and his wife of 78 years, Helen, raised four children before he retired at age 89. During retirement, he volunteered at local dental clinics to craft dentures for those in need. He passed away on November 23, 2022, at the age of 98.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine thanks the Tremont family for their continued dedication and support of the educational and patient care advancements we have made and continue to pursue in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
