Provided through government agencies, Medical Assistance pays for dental care for individuals who meet state and federal income and other guidelines. If you are eligible for benefits from Medical Assistance, coverage is limited to specific, predetermined services. Services that are included in your treatment that are not covered through Medical Assistance, and any applicable co-payments, are your responsibility. Some services may require pre-authorization from Medical Assistance. If your accepted dental treatment plan includes pre-authorization services, we are not able to provide the service to you until pre-authorization has been completed. If you decide to receive treatment for services that are not covered, one of our Patient Experience Specialists will assist you with financing options.
Please note that Medical Assistance will not cover x-rays, prophylaxis (cleaning), or an examination if you recently have received these services from another dental provider. Because of this limitation, you will be required to pay for these services if you have them performed and your claim is denied.
