Jodi Jasionowicz DMD

Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Jodi Jasionowicz received his BS degree in Biology at The University of Scranton. After college, he obtained his dental degree from Temple University's Maurice H. Kornberg, School of Dentistry. At graduation, he became a member of the Omikron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. After graduation from professional school, he completed a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where he further enriched his knowledge of dentoalveolar surgery and management of medically compromised patients.

Upon finishing his internship, Dr. Jasionowicz pursued a career in private practice for 20 years where he treated patients with dental emergencies, as an emergency dentist, and performed geriatric oral surgery for many nursing facilities in Northeast Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. Next, Dr. Jasionowicz pursued his passion for teaching by becoming a full-time instructor at Temple University's Maurice H. Kornberg, School of Dentistry.

During his time in academics, he has been involved in teaching dental students how to manage patients who need dentoalveolar surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery, emergency surgery, and how to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia effectively. Dr. Jasionowicz looks to continue his interest in teaching by educating future dentists at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He joined Pitt Dental in July 2023 and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Services, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Anesthesia.
