The opioid crisis was another key topic of conversation at #ADEA2018. "Everyone who prescribes, and for that matter everyone who consumes opioids, has a certain responsibility," said @PittDental's Dr. Paul Moore. "What we're trying to do is to define those responsibilities." pic.twitter.com/DadGBBmiBW

Pitt Alumni Ambassador Dinner .
Pitt Dental Medicine was very well represented by Dr. Samantha Linkowski (DMD ’17) at the Pitt Alumni Ambassador Dinner this week.
The event connected Pitt alums and Pitt freshman, sophomores and juniors to provide routes of communication and mentorship. Some of the students already have plans to pursue careers in dentistry, while others are still considering which path is the right one for them to take.
"It’s a really fun evening, and I encouraged the students to get involved in the Pre-Dental Club at Pitt, join a research lab at the school, and shadow dentists as a way to learn more about the career. Last year I was fortunate to mentor two undergraduate students—both of whom shadowed me in my office. This year I was so pleased to be at a table of all women interested in careers in dentistry!" said Dr. Linkowski
